Abstract

This work aims to characterize the decision process responsible for the access of military woman to brazilian navy in 1980. That event was articulated to a process of institutional reorganization occurred in the historic period of redemocratization in Brazil. Initially accepted for occupations on healthy and administration activities, the military woman became an important factor of integration between the militaries and the society, bringing suavity to a institutional consumed image. Therefore, that decision contributed to legitimacy of the signs traditionally belonging to a female role in our society.
