Controle de qualidade da fase pós-analítica do setor de citologia de um laboratório privado de Macapá, Amapá, Brasil
uma estratégia para assegurar qualidade no rastreamento do câncer de colo do útero
Abstract
The cytopathological examination is a most used methodology for the screening of cervical cancer (CC). Ensuring control quality is the priority of CC control . The objective of this research was to carry out the internal quality control of the post-analytical phase of cytology sector based on reports from women in Macapâ. A retrospective and quantitative study was conducted in 676 patients aged 14 to 88 years. Some indicators of Internal Quality Monitoring (IQM) of the post-analytical phase were used. 22 altered reports were detected, with the percentage of ASC-US and ASC-H (0.75%) being within the maximum limits. No malignant neoplasms were detected, such as premalignant lesions (SIL), in a percentage of 2.53%, 28,80% were of smears with pulmonary space and 67.92% normal. The positivity index was 3.28% and is within expected. 22.72% of samples so low ASC and T.49% HSIL. The ASC / SIL ratio allows the use of a quality test model (0.29%). A careful analysis of the cytopathological reports is important to guide actions to be performed by managers. In addition, clinical cytology is a subjective method, so it is necessary strategies that aim at the implementation of internal quality control, as well as its monitoring. Nevertheless, even with high CC morbidity and mortality rates in the North of Brazil, it is observed that there are few studies and publications on the coverage of cervical cytopathology in this region.
