Abstract

Multidis c ipl ina r y approa ch in rehabilitation treatments plays an important role in optimizing aesthetic results. The purpose of this study was to report a multidisciplinary clinical case involving aesthetic rehabilitation carried out at Odontoclínica Central da Marinha (OCM). Planning was performed by waxing diagnosis and mock-up, followed by vital bleaching and gingi val plasti c surger y for smi le harmonization. CEREC CAD / CAM technology was used for the scanning of this previous waxing, using the "biogeneric copy" mode and creating a virtual model that  overlapped the prepared teeth model. On restorative phase, crowns and laminate veneers in feldspathic ceramics of the CEREC Block type were confectioned due to its proven strenght and aesthetic excellence. In addition, it resulted in a precise and highly aesthetic work, with excellent marginal adaptation, in a reduced clinical time and less consultations. Three-dimensional system presentation allowed the preview and approval of the restorations by the patient. Final result was considered quite satisfactory, since it reproduced a natural smile overcoming patient´s expectations. Keywords: CEREC. CAD/CAM. Dental informatics. Ceramics. Dental veneers
