Interventions in the prevention of the occupational risks in the workplace

Abstract
The study aimed to discuss interventions for risk prevention in the workplace from the perspective of nursing home residents. Exploratory study in a military hospital in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The study included 20 nursing home residents. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee at the study site. The results showed that the nursing home residents consider the possibility of further discussions and actions relating to occupational hazards during the undergraduate and graduate school, as there is a gap between the profession, work and health. With a view to the results it is concluded that it is necessary to invest in the educational process and prevention and exposure control risks in the workplace, through knowledge of the risk realities, training, upgrades and educational activities with the participation of workers, seeking thus forming prevencionista culture.
